The much-anticipated sequel, “Under Night In-Birth II [Sys: Celes],” was officially announced, and it’s scheduled to hit the gaming scene on January 25, 2024. This instalment is poised to serve as the series' grand finale, promising an epic conclusion to the beloved storyline. Additionally, gamers can look forward to various DLC characters through Season Passes, adding even more excitement.

In “Under Night In-Birth II Sys: Celes,” players will experience a distinctive battle system brought to life through revamped, high-quality pixel art visuals and incredibly detailed facial expressions. The expanded move list, new character abilities, and finely-tuned balance provide an evolved battle system, allowing for a deeply engaging and strategic gameplay experience. Furthermore, the introduction of Rollback Netcode ensures smooth and responsive online play, allowing players to test their skills against global opponents in Rank Matches and Player Matches.
The game introduces exciting new mechanics that enhance the foundations of its predecessor. Notable features include the “Celestial state,” which rewards players with a fully charged GRD gauge if they win the Vorpal cycle with six or more blocks of GRD. The “Creeping Edge” also allows players to execute a dodge roll to avoid attacks, albeit at the risk of potentially losing GRD.
Quality-of-life improvements, such as custom color slots and the highly-anticipated rollback netcode, have enhanced the gaming experience. Players will also be delighted to discover that character themes have been entirely remade and voice lines have been recorded. The game’s stages have received graphical updates, with extra stages to explore. The roster features all 21 beloved characters from the original game, including guest characters Eltnum and Akatsuki, and the exciting addition of three new characters – Tsurugi, Kaguya, and Kuon.
