Mewgenice Gameplay
Mewgenics offers an engaging blend of strategic role-playing, featuring two distinct phases: combat and breeding. As you begin your journey in the game, you are assigned a team of four feline companions, each with their own unique character classes, such as agile hunters, mystical wizards, and nurturers. The healer. These cats come with varied stats and mana pools that significantly affect their role and performance in the game.
To further customize your feline team, you can equip them with various items and clothing, which can change their stats and abilities. The heart of the action appears in the combat stage, which is set within a procedurally generated grid viewed from a two-dimensional isometric perspective. Here, your team faces many opponents; your main objective is to eliminate all threats before advancing. Each character can move and use an active ability, supplemented by passive abilities that affect their performance.
The game’s combat dynamics are intricately tied to the environment, with weather conditions affecting performance and surrounding vegetation able to help or hinder your cats. When the cat runs out of hit points, she is incapacitated but remains in the battle with long-term consequences, such as possible brain damage, and can eventually be defeated if subjected to further enemy attacks…
The stakes are high because losing a cat means saying goodbye to its possessions, including unique and rare items that can be irreplaceable. After a victorious battle, you get to choose a cat to level up, thus increasing its abilities and strengthening your team.
Once your adventure is over, the second phase of Mewgenics unfolds breeding. Surviving cats return to the central hub, bringing with them their collected stats and supplies that other cats can use. Here, in the cozy confines of your virtual home, two cats sharing the same space can engage in mating, resulting in a new cat that inherits from both parents. These inherited traits can lead to cats that are well-suited for future adventures.
However, inbreeding, the practice of mating closely related cats, can produce offspring with mutations and other deficiencies. As time progresses in the game’s simulation, cats may also meet their end due to the natural process of aging, adding a layer of complexity and realism to the complex world of the game.
